Bullhorn® Remote Monitoring

The Bullhorn® wireless telemetry system includes several different types of devices that are capable of remote monitoring for scheduled and by-exception inbound reporting, as well as two-way communication for on-demand reads and activating/deactivating equipment. Bullhorn units offer the ability to capture and send information from remote equipment easily and provide 100% coverage via cellular and satellite communication systems.

Bullhorn units are available in the model types identified below. Each model is also offered in a variety of enclosures.

  • Automated Meter Reading: Units report utility meter readings daily. During installation, unit is set to match the meter's reading to allow for occasional verification of accuracy. Unit can be configured to store the reading at a particular time that may be different from the reporting time to ensure that meter readings from multiple meters are comparative. Model types include:
  • AMR6 — 6 digits of meter resolution.
  • AMR6-SAT or AMR6-ORB - Uses a satellite system for communication and has the same functionality as the AMR6.
  • Alarm Monitoring: Units are suitable for general monitoring and cathodic protection monitoring (rectifiers, test points, and critical bonds). Units accept analog (±5V, ±50mV, or 4 to 20 mA with external resistor) and/or digital signals. Model types include:
  • APM2AM - 2 channel device accepting analog or digital signals.
  • APM4AM - 6 channel device. Channels 1-4 are selectable as analog and/or digital. Channel 5 can be an accumulator or a digital channel. Channel 6 can be an accumulator reset or a digital channel.
  • APM4AM-SAT - Uses a satellite system for communication and has the same functionality as the APM4AM.
  • APM4AMCP - Total of six inputs: 3 analog/digital inputs that have a range of +/-5VDC and can be configured as active digital or analog; 1 analog input which has a range of +/-100VDC; 1 input that can be digital or a digital counter; and 1 input that can be digital or a counter reset. Comes standard with built-in surge protection and ability to select from built-in rectifier interface functionality and/or test point filtering. Also available as a satellite unit.
  • Serial Data Terminal: Units interrogate modbus-compatible instruments via an RS232 connection and report register readings on a flexible frequency. Units are compatible with ASCII or RTU Modbus. Flow corrector protocols are also available. Units sense alarms via an available contact closure. Model types include:
  • SDT16 - Reports up to sixteen 6-digit register readings, eight 12-digit register readings, or a combination of both from RTU or ASCII.Bullhorn ICP
  • SDT16-SAT - Uses a satellite system for communication and has the same functionality as the SDT16.
  • Remote Interruption, Control, and On-Demand: The Bullhorn i-series ICP provides scheduled and by exception inbound reporting as well as two-way communication via satellite for on-demand reads and activating/deactiviating equipment. The ICP can also be field upgraded to include a MicroMax® GPS80 current interrupter for IR Free CP reads. Unit is available in 2 and 4 analog channel versions; both versions have 6 digital inputs and 6 digital outputs.
